Microsoft confirms new Zunes, sorta

While he didn’t go and officially confirm that new Zunes are coming, Robbie Bach nevertheless did drop hints about new Zunes at Microsoft’s annual financial analyst meeting last week. He talked about expanding the Zune line with different capacities, new features, and new price points. Analysts also agree that new Zunes are definitely forthcoming. It’s a question of when, rather than if, they say.
The rumored new Zunes include an 80GB HDD-based player and a new, flash-based Zune. Both players are expected to hit the stores by November to cash in on the holiday shopping season. There were also rumors that one of the players had hit a production snag and might not make it in time for the holidays.
