Finally an umbrella that forecasts rain

Isn’t that very logical? A device that protects you from the rain should also be able to tell you when it will rain. For those living in the US, a new umbrella by Ambient Devices that goes on sale this week, receives weather data wirelessly from Accuweather.com and informs the owner when they should expect rain. As shown in the figure, the blue LEDs light up if there’s rain coming in the next twelve hours. The intensity of the glow signals how whether it’s a light shower or a thunderstorm. 150 locations in the US will be covered.
The umbrella will cost $140 but that’s a small price to pay for the invaluable knowledge that the umbrella will provide its users. I mean, it’s not like you can get that kind of weather information anywhere else.
